The constraint
Every growing company drowns in the same two paper streams: invoices and HR admin. Invoices arrive in a dozen formats and get keyed in by hand, matched against purchase orders by hand, and chased by hand: slow, error-prone, and impossible to scale without headcount.
HR runs on the same manual grind: onboarding paperwork, leave tracking, document management, policy questions answered one email at a time. It is expensive work that adds no differentiation, and it scales linearly with the company.
What we built
A platform that automates the judgment, not just the data entry. On the finance side it ingests invoices in any format, extracts and structures the data, matches them against purchase orders, flags exceptions and probable duplicates, and routes for approval: a manual queue becomes an exception-only workflow where humans touch only what actually needs a decision.
On the HR side it automates onboarding document flows, leave and record management, and answers routine policy questions directly, escalating only the genuinely novel.
Why it matters
This is Notum's proof of horizontal product capability: sticky, subscription-friendly, and applicable to every company that has invoices and employees. It answers the question every bespoke-engineering studio gets asked: is there a product here?
